The long-awaited snow descended over night, transforming Big Bear Lake into a winter wonderland! Big Bear Ski Resorts Celebrate the Snow Storm
Snow Summit and Bear Mountain Resort have announced on their website that “IT’S SNOWING – Up to 4 inches of New Snow & Counting!” Here is what they have to say about snow days in Big Bear and how to prep coming up the mountain in snowy conditions.
Snow days are the best time to hit the slopes. With a fresh layer of powder, come experience the best conditions of the season. Forecasts are calling for snowfall throughout the day with a few inches of new snow possible. R-2 chain restrictions are currently in effect on Hwy 330, Hwy 18 through Running Springs, and Hwy 38. Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel/all wheel drive vehicles with snow-tread tires on all four wheels. NOTE: Four wheel/all wheel drive vehicles must carry traction devices in chain control areas. Take Hwy 18 through Lucerne Valley as an alternative route, no chain restrictions are in place on Hwy 18 LV at this time.
