Castle Rock Trail
Length: 1.42 mile Difficulty: Moderate
Castle Rock Trailhead is located just off Big Bear Blvd (Hwy 18), about 1 mile east of Boulder Bay Park. Look for a small brown wooden trail sign on the south side of the road. There is no official lot, so park along the highway shoulder (legally) and be cautious when crossing.
As you climb, you’ll get glimpses of Big Bear Lake through the trees. The summit features massive rock formations (hence the name), where adventurous hikers can scramble to the top of the peak for unbeatable views.
