March 3-6th is going to be a legendary weekend in Big Bear Lake! The Big Bear ROMP is back for the second time and is SoCal’s official gay snow play weekend! Things kick off with a Thursday meet and greet at Big Bear Lake Brewing Co. where you can try the local brews and learn how they are made. The fun continues on Friday with special lunch time events at Snow Summit then head over to Wolf Creek Resort and Wine Room, and end the night at The Bowling Barn. Saturday head back to Snow Summit before the evening gets started at 572 Social Kitchen & Lounge before the Snow Plow Dance Event in The Village. 5th Annual Polar Plunge
The Special Olympics is proud to jump into Big Bear Lake for another fun, and chilly weekend of “freezin’ for a reason” on March 4th. The Polar Plunge raises money for Special Olympics Inland Empire which works to enrich the lives of athletes with intellectual disabilities and their communities through sports, education and health. You can be a part of this amazing event for a minimum donation of $50. Take the plunge or support participants while staying warm and dry in the “Chicken Coop.” It’s all for a great cause and is sure to be a fun event for your Big Bear Lake vacation! 12th Annual Scout Day at Bear Mountain
March 5th is sure to be a day full of fun on the slopes! Scouts have the opportunity to earn a Snow Sports Merit Badge from the counselors at Bear Mountain. Bald Eagle Celebration and Count at the Big Bear Discovery Center
Dress warm and don’t forget your binoculars when you come up to your vacation rental in Big Bear! The Big Bear Discovery Center is holding their monthly Bald Eagle Celebration and Count on March 12th. Volunteers are led on a guided hike through the San Bernardino National Forest to look for Bald Eagles who call Big Bear Lake their home. After the count a forest service biologist will share a 1-hour presentation about the national bird. This is a great family event or for anyone wanting to learn about conservation efforts and why the Bald Eagle is so special.
