A Brief to Holcomb Valley Trail Run

Introduce yourself to the 27th Holcomb Valley Trail Run happening on 10 June 2023. The registrations are open since February to help you save big. However, you still have a chance to book your slots now. You can pick the miles of your choice among 33 miles, 15 miles, or 7 miles.

As the event is a fundraiser, you get the chance to run for a social cause. Irrefutably, Gary, and Pam decided after fifteen years of event directing and coordination to close the event. After it, the event occurred virtually. However, they are coming back in 2023 with the pride of continuing their discovery of trail run to Susie Schmelzer and Harald Zundel with Team Kodiak. 

Going back to 1997, when the Holcomb Valley Trail Run was established, its founders, Gary and Pam Kalina brought something enticing to the world. Gary was an avid runner who discovered that Big Bear could be the lively spot for unforgettable trail run experiences. Nevertheless, it is just the beginning!

Why Big Bear?

Because one of the finest mile tracks is located here! The best trail running in Big Bear is on the Pacific Crest Trail. It is a 2800-mile trail that stretches from the Mexican to the Canadian border. While running on the track, runners witness the picturesque views of nature’s beauty and greenery essence along with the San Gorgonio Wilderness and Mountain Ski Resorts.

Want to Volunteer?

The event is a fundraiser for a local volunteer search and rescue organization. With Search and Rescue, it becomes possible to bring 20 volunteers to assist in the event management, operation, marking of the course, staffing aid stations, and providing safety, communication, and first aid.

Their involvement is critical to the event’s success. Volunteers can earn race credits applied toward registration for this event or any Kodiak race without any expiry. If you are interested in volunteering, fill out this form now! Further, the training can begin in May. Be prepared!
