The Martin Luther King Jr. holiday offers an opportunity for a much-needed breath of fresh air. This year, Big Bear Mountain Resort invites you to honor the long weekend by spending quality time in the great outdoors. With Snow Valley, Snow Summit, and Bear Mountain all offering extended hours, you’ll find more time to appreciate the beauty of the mountain.
The MLK holiday serves as the perfect mid-winter reset. It’s the first real opportunity of the year to load up the truck, grab your crew, and head for the mountains. There’s a certain magic to this weekend in Big Bear; it’s a chance to reflect, breathe deep, and soak in the mountain air. With extended lift hours spinning across all three peaks, you aren’t just getting a vacation, you’re getting more laps, more sunsets, and more time to unwind by the fireplace in a Big Bear cabin rental. It’s the ultimate winter basecamp for families and friends who want to make every hour count.
This MLK Jr. Holiday event is all about maximizing time on the mountain. Resorts will be operating longer hours, giving skiers and snowboarders more options how to arrange their day. The weekend will allow morning to night sessions and it will be the time for both high-energy runs and relaxed mountain enjoyment.
