What to Expect at Big Bear PaddleFest

From sunrise until the final finish, Big Bear PaddleFest offers nonstop excitement on the water. Paddle races stay within the buoy lines while swimmers complete point-to-point courses beginning and ending at Swim Beach. Every event is supported by safety boats, trained guides, and organized race management, ensuring an enjoyable experience for participants throughout the day.

Event Highlights

Paddle races begin and finish at Swim Beach.
Open water swim races follow a scenic out-and-back course along Eagle Point.
Paddle courses travel counterclockwise around Big Bear Lake.
The 20K paddle race circles the entire lake.
The 10K and 5K paddle races include turnaround buoys before returning to the finish.
Registered paddle participants are required to carry a personal flotation device.
Safety boats remain on the water throughout the event.
SUPs and kayaks guide swimmers during each swim event.
Wetsuits are encouraged for swim participants.
Participants can register for paddle races, swim races, or both.
