Why Runners Love the Conquer the Wall Race

Originally developed as a training challenge by Olympian Ryan Hall, this one-mile race climbs up Snow Summit’s steepest dirt trail, now known as “The Wall.” Big Bear High School’s cross-country team still trains on this course each summer. Whether you're racing for fun, competition, or legacy, this event is a tribute to pushing limits.

What’s Included With Participation

When you join Conquer the Wall, you're not just racing—you’re experiencing one of the most scenic and challenging mountain runs in California. All participants enjoy:

• An official event T-shirt
• A free Sky Chair ride back to the base after finishing
• Aid station at the summit
• Post-race refreshments at the base area
• Stunning alpine views and photo-worthy moments

Spectators can hike alongside or ride the lift to cheer from the top.

Race Prizes, Cash Awards, and Age-Group Recognition

Conquer the Wall offers rewarding recognition for top finishers—both individuals and teams.

Individual Awards:

• $100 cash prize for top male and female finishers
• Awards for top 3 runners in each age group:
  13 & under, 14–18, 19–29, 30–39, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, 70+

Team Awards:

• Top Male Team (5 fastest combined times)
• Top Female Team
• Top Mixed Team (must include at least 2 female runners)

Awards Ceremony starts at the summit at 10:15 AM. Stick around to celebrate with the community.
