My first Big Bear Lake Earthquake<\/h1>\n

Big Bear Earthquake<\/p><\/div>\n

I have lived in California now for 14 years and I don’t think I felt an Earthquake ever,\u00a0 maybe a tremor.\u00a0 But today, 7\/5\/2014 I felt a 4.7 Big Bear Lake<\/a> Earthquake! It was not scary but gave me a high sense of anxiety.\u00a0 Hard to explain the feeling,\u00a0 it just continue to grow but it felt very slow.\u00a0\u00a0 I did nothing but sat at my desk (stopped working) and looked out at Bear Mountain.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 My lamps on my desk rocked,\u00a0 the house creaked,\u00a0 my home is on a concrete foundation and I could feel it move under my feet.\u00a0\u00a0 The outside door is literally 5 feet from desk and I did not move instead just sat there,\u00a0 my wife upstairs in the kitchen,\u00a0 yelled “Get on the floor!\u00a0 next to your desk”\u00a0\u00a0 I did not,\u00a0 I just sat there looking outside wondering when it would stop.<\/p>\n

My neighbors were sitting on their deck with their children and were yelling “WOO-HOOO”,\u00a0\u00a0 and were smiling.\u00a0\u00a0 The deck sits above their garage so I guess the worst is they could have fallen straight down 8 feet if the room collapsed.\u00a0\u00a0 I was not so excited but more like a deer in the headlights.\u00a0\u00a0 Pretty embarrassing,\u00a0 I guess I need to go through some training and actual role-playing.<\/p>\n

I am from Michigan and all my friends say “are you not scared?”,\u00a0 “when you moving back?”……\u00a0 I have one answer,\u00a0 look at the picture from my desk today after we had a FLASH FLOOD WARNING and a 4.7 Earthquake today in Big Bear Lake.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 My answer – “I am never leaving California!”<\/p>\n

I still love you Michigan but my heart is here.<\/p>\n
