To better provide public and firefighter safety due to the ongoing California wildfire crisis, USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region is announcing a temporary closure of all National Forests in California. This closure will be in effect from Aug. 31, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. through September 17, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. Non-National Forest activities are operating and open to the public. This includes marinas and lake operations.<\/p>\n<h2>What&#8217;s open in Big Bear?<\/h2>\n<p>All three highways coming up and traveling down the mountain are open.\u00a0 Restaurants are fully open and ready to serve you. All Non-National Forest activities are open as well as businesses are open to the public.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.destinationbigbear.com\/blog\/exclusive-offer\/\">Action Tours<\/a> is fully open. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.destinationbigbear.com\/blog\/oktoberfest-big-bear\/\">Oktoberfest<\/a> is still set to open on September 11th. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.destinationbigbear.com\/blog\/big-bear-marinas-rentals-fishing\/\">Marinas<\/a> are open for boating, jet asking,\u00a0 kayaking, and other Lake Tours and activities. Our City parks are open, Boulder Bay Park, Rotary Park, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.destinationbigbear.com\/blog\/discover-meadow-park-in-big-bear-lake\/\">Meadow Park<\/a>, Dana Point, Ski Beach, and others.\u00a0 Alpine Sides and Big Bear Speedway, the Ropes Course is also open. You can also visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.destinationbigbear.com\/blog\/big-bear-alpine-zoo\/\">the Zoo<\/a>. The entire Village is open for shopping, dining and more! You can also enjoy bowling.<\/p>\n<h2>What&#8217;s closed in Big Bear?<\/h2>\n<p>All of San Bernardino National Forest trails are closed for hiking, biking, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.destinationbigbear.com\/blog\/horseback-riding-in-big-bear\/\">horseback riding<\/a>, motorbiking, off-roading, and all other activities. All Campgrounds in San Bernardino Nation Forest are closed. Also, Designated Picnic Areas are closed.\u00a0 This includes Juniper Point, Meadows Edge, Aspen Glen, and Grout Bay. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.destinationbigbear.com\/blog\/big-bear-lake-has-the-best-fishing\/\">Fishing<\/a> around the shoreline on National Forest land is prohibited. Big Bear Mountain Resort has suspended summer activities that take place on Forest Service land, this includes Summit Bike Park, the Scenic Sky Chair and all base area activities.
