Pollen in Big Bear<\/p><\/div>\n

It\u2019s pollen season here in Big Bear, which means allergies are high. Due to the dryer air and the higher winds, pollen is very prominent in the mountains during this time of year. When you\u2019re planning to travel to Big Bear while the pollen is high, we recommend you come prepared with the basic allergy necessities. Nasal rinse is important to keep handy while you are out and about in Big Bear during this season. Pollen usually causes itching, sneezing and stuffy noses due to pollen exposure in your nasal cavities. By rinsing your nose with salt water, you essentially flush out all of the pollen that is causing any unwanted issues. Saline solution is available at most convenient stores and can be easily carried in a purse or pocket. If the saline solution doesn\u2019t seem to be enough, over the counter allergy medications can be helpful in keeping your allergy symptoms at bay. Keep in mind that pollen is very sticky and can hitch a ride on clothing, shoes, skin and even your pets. It\u2019s always best to wash and wipe down all clothing and accessories after a day out in order to keep the pollen from entering your home. Showering will help remove the pollen from your skin and hair. If you bring your pets along on your outdoor adventure, we recommend wiping them down as the pollen can stick to their skin and fur as well. <\/span><\/p>\n

We take precautions<\/h2>\n

Destination Big Bear<\/a> knows how tedious pollen can be, which is why we take precautions to help make your stay more comfortable. For our homes with outdoor decks, we hose off the surfaces that pollen may stick to try and keep the pollen build-up to a minimum. Unfortunately due to excessive amounts of pollen, decks and outdoor surfaces may collect more pollen overnight or during high winds. Although pollen season is here in Big Bear, there is no reason to let that stop you from adventuring in the beautiful San Bernardino National Forest. Taking precautions before and during your time out will help minimize any symptoms the pollen may cause. <\/span><\/p>\n
