On March 11, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of coronavirus, known as COVID-19, to be a global pandemic. We are providing the following coverage for COVID-19 under our extenuating circumstances policy to help protect our community and provide peace of mind.<\/p>\n

Summary of Big Bear Lake AIRBNB Policy<\/h2>\n

Reservations made on or before March 14, 2020 for stays and Airbnb Experiences, with a check-in date between March 14, 2020 and April 14, 2020, are covered by the policy and may be cancelled before check-in. Guests who cancel will receive a full refund, and hosts can cancel without charge or impact to their Superhost status. Airbnb will refund all service fees for covered cancellations.<\/p>\n

The host\u2019s cancellation policy will apply as usual to reservations made after March 14, 2020, and to reservations made on or before March 14, 2020 with check-in dates after April 14, 2020.<\/p>\n

If a reservation has already begun (the check-in has passed) this extenuating circumstance does not apply.<\/p>\n

Domestic reservations in mainland China are covered under the existing mainland China extenuating circumstances for COVID-19<\/a> statement. Luxe or Luxury<\/a> Retreats reservations are covered under the Luxe Guest Refund Policy<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

What reservations are covered<\/h2>\n

Reservations made on or before March 14, 2020<\/h3>\n

Reservations for stays and Airbnb Experiences made on or before March 14, 2020, with a check-in date between March 14, 2020 and April 14, 2020, may be cancelled before check-in. This means that guests who cancel will receive a full refund, hosts can cancel without charge or impact to their Superhost status, and Airbnb will refund all service fees.<\/p>\n

How it works<\/h2>\n

If your reservation is covered, it will be marked as such on the reservation details page (found in Trips<\/a> if you\u2019re a guest, or in your hosting dashboard if you\u2019re a host).<\/p>\n

For guests:<\/strong> If you cancel a covered reservation, you\u2019ll receive a full refund and Airbnb will refund all service fees. You don\u2019t need to contact us in this case. More about how refunds work<\/a>.<\/p>\n

For hosts:<\/strong> If you cancel a covered reservation, you will not be charged, there will be no impact to your Superhost status, and Airbnb will refund all service fees. You don\u2019t need to contact us in this case.<\/p>\n

If your reservation is not covered, the host\u2019s cancellation policy will apply as usual. We encourage you to reach out to your host or guest to discuss cancellations and refunds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
